Dell Smart Plug-in for HP Operations Manager enables the datacenter customers to monitor Dell server, storage and networking infrastructures in environments managed by HP Operations Manager console. Dell Smart Plug-in protects an IT organization’s existing investment in HP Operations Manager console and helps ease the integration and monitoring of Dell devices. 

Product features

• Monitors Dell PowerEdge Servers in either in-band (9G-12G) or out-of-band mode (12G only), DRACs, Chassis, Storage and Network Switch devices. 
• Provides agent-free, out-of-band monitoring leveraging iDRAC7 with Lifecycle  Controller.
• Correlates alerts automatically to focus on the current outstanding problems only.
• Configuration or management of Dell devices by launching Dell one-to-one and one-to-many console solutions directly from HP Operations Manager Console.
• Device association of Dell Modular Servers/ Storage/ Network Switches to Dell Chassis to help locate blades in a chassis.

• Support for HP Operations Manager 9.0 Management Server on Microsoft Windows Server 2012.
• Monitoring of Dell PowerEdge VRTX chassis, PowerVault NX storage arrays, Compellent storage arrays, EqualLogic PS-Series Blade storage arrays, Force10 switches and PowerConnect switches.
• Monitoring of SNMP Traps for Dell PowerEdge VRTX chassis, PowerVault NX storage arrays, Compellent storage arrays, EqualLogic PS-Series Blade storage arrays, PowerVault MD storage arrays, Force10 switches and PowerConnect switches.
• Support for Dell PowerEdge VRTX CMC, Compellent Storage Manager, Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager Client, OpenManage Switch Administrator, Switch Telnet and Dell OpenManage Network Manager console launch.
• View warranty information of Dell PowerEdge VRTX chassis, PowerVault NX storage arrays, Compellent storage arrays, EqualLogic PS-Series Blade storage arrays, PowerVault MD storage arrays, Force10 switches and PowerConnect switches.
• Support for SNMP Trap Correlation of  Dell iDRAC7, PowerEdge VRTX chassis, PowerVault NX storage arrays, Compellent storage arrays and PowerConnect switches.
• View Alert Knowledge Base (KB) information of Dell PowerEdge VRTX chassis.
• Support to upgrade from previous version (Version 3.0) to the new version.

Customers can choose to monitor Dell PowerEdge servers without software agents by leveraging agent-free, out-of-band technology through iDRAC7 with Lifecycle Controller or in-band with traditional OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA).  Customers who want to optimize for increased availability, efficiency and process automation will consider purchasing a license to enable the agent-free option. By using out-of-band management, IT administrators no longer need to install or periodically certify/validate OMSA agent installed on the server operating system. This out-of-band management technology allows IT administrators to effectively monitor Dell servers from any location, and without the use of agents. It accomplishes this regardless of operating system or hypervisor presence or state. Dell Smart Plug-in for HP Operations Manager is offered at no charge for customers who elect to monitor Dell PowerEdge servers (through OMSA agent installed on the server operating system), chassis, storage and networking devices.
