This year we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Supercomputer Conference Series.  Held in the Mile High City of Denver,  SC13 was a great success! Some of the significant key highlights from the conference included:

  • University of Texas winning a second consecutive Student Cluster Competition
  • Panel discussions in the Dell booth
    • Solving the HPC Data Deluge
    • And You Thought HPC Virtualization was Never Going to Happen?
    • Thought-leadership presentations in the Dell booth

Panel Discussions:

We are delighted that insideHPC's Rich Brueckner moderated two panel discussions in our booth.

First up was Solving the HPC Data Deluge, a discussion on the important issues around data storage. We are honored to have had the participation of:

  • Will Law, Stanford University
  • Boyd Wilson, Clemson University
  • Scott Yockel, Ph.D., University of North Texas
  • Scott Nolin, University of Wisconsin, Madison

You can learn more about the panel and see the discussion video here!

The second panel, And You Thought HPC Virtualization was Never Going to Happen?, was an intriguing look at this hot topic. The distinguished panel included:

  • Jim Wilgenbusch, Ph.D., Florida State University
  • Paul Calleja, Ph.D., Cambridge University
  • Joseph Antony, Ph.D., Australian National University
  • Brett Zimmerman, University of Oklahoma
  • Brad Dispensa, University of California, San Francisco

You can learn more about the panel and see the discussion video here.

Video with HPC thought leaders

We wanted to know what some of the movers and shakers in HPC thought about the past 25 years in supercomputing, and where they think we're heading in the next 25.  Check back soon to see what they had to say!

SC13 showed just how far the HPC community has come. Join us in New Orleans for SC14 to see what the future has in store!
